Switchboard Training Begins in July

Montrose Counseling Center is currently accepting applications for the next Gay & Lesbian Switchboard training coming up at the end of July. Because the training encompasses three consecutive weekends, we are only able to hold the trainings on a quarterly basis. The next training will be held the last Saturday in July; the first two Saturdays in August, as well as the second Sunday in August.

As one of Reign XXVI’s charities, the Empire of the Royal Sovereign Imperial Court of the Single Star, Inc. (ERSICSS) raises money for Montrose Counseling Center at weekly shows throughout the reign of the Emperor and Empress XXVI Falcon and Sheri Anne Bouton. ERSICSS shows are open to all performers.

HATCH is hosting its first Summer Film Festival for HATCH youth and SPRY participants. Youth Services Specialist Deb Murphy says two films will be shown every Tuesday afternoon in Room 101 of the GLBT Cultural Center, 401 Branard St., beginning July 13 and running through August 24.

In observance of National HIV Testing Day, Montrose Counseling Center will offer free HIV testing on Monday, June 28th. Walk-ins are welcome to come between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. to the first floor GLBT Cultural Center at 401 Branard, to get tested. MCC uses the OraQuick ADVANCE Rapid HIV-1/2 Antibody Test.
