World AIDS Day • December 1

Complications from HIV/AIDS has taken many of our good friends over the years. Every December, we pause to remember the people whose voices we will never hear again, listen to those who are coping with HIV/AIDS, and offer our ongoing support for their loved ones and caregivers. Come to the candlelight observance downtown or make a link to add to our Paper Chain of Remembrance.

Former Hatchling Pays It Forward

If you’re ever at Pearland Town Center, stop by the Kay Jewelers and say hello to David Lindsay. He is the store manager now. David is a former Hatchling who has never forgotten the acceptance and strength he gained through Hatch, the Texas Gulf Coast’s oldest LGBTIQA youth group. We are The Montrose Center

Montrose Counseling Center’s “outsides” are changing to match our “insides!” The unveiling of our gallant new brand took place Wednesday, October 24th. It is the result of many hands and voices, and reflects not only all that we do, but also our ongoing commitment to the empowerment of, and social justice for, Houston’s LGBT community. Changes like this take a bit of time, so bear with us as we make our transition to The Montrose Center!

Bullying: Why Is Everyone Wearing Purple?

On Friday, October 19, people will be wearing purple to show their support of Anti-Bullying Month, and more specifically, Anti-LGBT Bullying. Even our mascot, HATCHy, will be clad in Violet. It’s part of Spirit Day, organized by GLAAD, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.
