Through the Looking Glass – Support Hatch Prom 2013
Every year the Hatch youth come up with their own theme for their annual prom, and 2013’s concept should lend itself to everything from the surreal and fabulous to the outrageous. Prom also happens to be Hatch’s largest fundraiser of the year. We long for a day when events like the Hatch Prom aren’t necessary. Year-round, we work with local schools to help them become safer and more affirming for all youth.

The Texas Association Against Sexual Assault and the Montrose Center are focusing on for Sexual Assault Awareness Month is the social climate that allows for sex to be a weapon. Why Is This Affecting Me?
Reactions to a disaster vary from person to person. Some people immerse themselves in the media coverage. Some become reclusive, while others become uncharacteristically talkative. Some feel numb or paralyzed by fear. Some are relieved because it didn’t happen to them. Some donate blood or raise money for the victims. Some pray. Some are quick to cast blame. Some are angry. All of those responses are justified and normal, and many of us will probably go through several different stages in the days and weeks ahead.

Taking Care of Our Own
We are a proud city, and we have good reason. Houston has been ranked THE MOST PHILANTHROPIC city in the country by Charity Navigator. Of the $10.2 Billion dollars given to charity by Houstonians last year, estimators gauge that less than five percent was LGBT persons supporting LGBT agencies. You can be a part of a national campaign to mobilize donors on May 9 to give to a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to serving this community.
