DESCRIPTION:The annual Transgender Thanksgiving Potluck is a tradition started in the mid-90s by Brenda Thomas\, a fierce activist in Houston’s transgender community. Brenda unfortunately passed away in 2006\, but her legacy remains today. For the past few years\, the Montrose Center has worked alongside the transgender community to continue this tradition every year on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. This year\, we will continue a little differently. \nDue to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic\, socializing with our friends and chosen family is still not safe. As a community\, we have decided to continue that tradition of “togetherness” by hosting our first TGiving Drive-Thru Celebration\, on November 24th\, from 4 – 7 PM at the Montrose Center. This event is open to all members of the transgender\, non-binary\, and gender non-conforming communities\, regardless of financial need. For this event we will be following all the CDC recommendations to ensure the safety of everyone taking part in this event.
